Quilt Preparation Checklist

I will treat your quilt as one of my own using great care and service.  I want to make sure that you are happy with your quilt once it has been quilted or basted.  Please use the checklist below to help me to complete the best job possible for your quilt.  Understand that machine quilting will not correct fullness, puckering, poor sewing, inadequate seam allowance, improperly measured borders, or the squareness of your quilt.

  1. To properly load your quilt onto the longarm machine, your backing must be a minimum of 4 inches larger on all sides than the pieced top.  Maximum width for my machine is 110 inches. (Please no bed sheets as backing fabric)

  2. If you prefer to use your own batting, it must be a minimum of 4 inches larger on all sides than the pieced top.

  3. Please trim all threads. (I can trim for an extra fee)

  4. Make sure the quilt top and back are flat and seams well pressed.  (I can press seams for an extra fee)

  5. If the quilt top or backing is directional, please mark the top and bottom with a pinned note.

  6. If shipping please place the quilt into a plastic bag to protect from liquid damage.

If threads are not trimmed, and/or seams are not pressed when received there will be an extra fee charged for me to complete the quilt preparation.
